Westendorf epitomises the quaint Austrian ski village. This pretty winter ski resort is set on a sunny plateau in the Brixental Valley in the Tyrol province, it is intimate, friendly, informal and reasonably priced in comparison to most of the ski resorts. With everything in the village within walking distance, it is perfect for families and those of us who may be directionally challenged and still want to get to ski school on time! The Westendorf skiing season runs from 20 December 2010 until 26 March 2011. |

Saalbach is a fun filled, easy going Austrian village set in the heart of beautiful Salzburgerland. The large ski area, known as the Ski Circus thanks to the well linked lift systems of Saalbach and neighbouring Hinterglemm, is superb, you can pretty much ski the whole day without repeating a run or going down to the village. Wandering around the shops and bars is made more enjoyable as the centre of the village is traffic free. The number of repeat visitors to Saalbach speaks volumes as to what an amazing holiday experience is to be had. Now pass the Schnapps please! |
